Schubert - Late Piano Works
This record comprises of two works composed late on Schubert’s life. The first, Sonata in C minor has been compared to Beethovens 32 variations in the same key however whereas the Beethoven can be described as cut and dried, Schubert’s meanders in a tragic but inspired way. The second work is a set of four impromputs not unlike a sonata in style and with the same tragic inspiration of the Sonata in C minor.
